Small Classes, Big Impact

Small class sizes and high teacher-to-student ratio allow staff to truly know and support the children we serve -- their needs, their passions and their developing capabilities. Our teachers work collaboratively to provide a smooth transition into formal schooling, providing the warm welcome that will carry children through their school life.

Where Imagination Meets Education

The Play-Based Learning approach at CIS uses play as the primary method for children to explore, discover, and understand the world around them. CIS encourages creativity, imagination, and social interaction while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through playful activities, children naturally build language, motor, and cognitive abilities in a joyful and engaging environment.

This approach respects each child's pace and interests, fostering a love for learning that supports their overall development and well-being.

Observing to Understand

In our program, teachers support children in play by observing their interests, strengths, and needs to understand how each child learns best. They use thoughtful questioning to encourage deeper thinking and language development without interrupting the flow of play. By creating a curated environment filled with diverse materials and open-ended resources, CIS teachers inspire exploration and creativity.

Additionally, they provide individualized support by scaffolding learning moments, adapting activities, and offering guidance tailored to each child's unique developmental stage, ensuring play remains meaningful and enriching.
